Stephanie Law / Aethervoce is a handpan instrumentalist and composer. Her music flows with an ethereal lyric quality, drawing from her background as a classical pianist and weaving contemporary rhythms and haunting melodies with the signature percussive quality of the handpan.

Curious about the handpan? The otherworldly sound is often mistaken for something ancient, but it is in fact a very young instrument. The first handpan was created in 2000 in Switzerland by PANArt Hangbau. Each handpan is tuned to a different scale, and the number of notes can vary between 8 to 25 or more. The instruments I play are from a number of different makers: Handromeda, Spirit Handpans, Elysian Handpans. They are hand-crafted/tuned and made of stainless steel.
